Creative Chemistry 101 Day 4...

Here is my next set of tags from my Creative Chemistry class:
These were a bit more challenging, the first tag was watercolored with Distress Re-Inkers. One thing I think was a bit of a problem was the water pens I was using... I will definitely getting Tim's water brush pens. The middle tag was a layered misting technique... which using spray inks really is not my strong suit. This technique will require a lot more practice to get the hang of it. The last one is made by creating a custom stamp pad. This was a really an interesting technique and worked out pretty well. I also made a card with this stamp and ink pad... pretty cool!

Creative Chemistry 101 Day 3...

Well, here is my Day 3 homework. Now the first tag on the left, is my favorite.. I've loved this technique since learning it at my Local Scrapbook Store (Thanks, Bonnie!) So this tag made up quick and easy. Now the second tag, in the middle... well, that one was a bit more involved. Its a resist technique, but not using embossing powder, since I couldn't find the right colors in the inks I needed, I used the colors that I could find. They don't pop, so the tag doesn't look as cool as it could. Once my local scrapbook store gets the colors in, I'm going to redo this tag, but for now I'll use this one for reference. The last tag is a technique using his Reflections Stamps. Since I didn't have those, I just used some background stamps I had from Close To My Heart.

Creative Chemistry 101...

Well, the other day, reading through my email... the update from Tim Holtz's blog caught my eye.. it was entitled Creative Process. Well, at first I thought it was a post of what inspires him and gives him his ideas.. but 'No' it was talking about a new online class, Creative Chemistry 101 that he is teaching. Since I could never afford going to one of his real classes, this was perfect for me... So I signed up!

It started on Monday, and since its a work at your own pace, I've been taking my time with it. The first day was getting familiar with your inks, and then day 2 we jumped in to making our technique tags. Here is my Day 2 homework:

I think they turned out pretty good... what do you think?
